PenRad mammography
clients can add automation to their system while making the transition
to digital.
Imaging facilities, with or without mammography, can add automation and
productivity modules to their systems with the PenRad digital automation
modules that are generally only available in full HIS/RIS and PACS
systems.
The
PenRad DICOM Worklist module allows modalities to more efficiently
populate the DICOM imaging header and provide consistent DICOM
information for image archival. Facilities scanning priors for
comparison have access to historical mammography imaging, without manual
entry. The PenRad DICOM Worklist can be used in conjunction with our HL7
module.
For
facilities desiring to attach the narrative report to the mammography
imaging file, activating the DICOM SR (structured report) module creates
a DICOM Basic SR of the narrative report when results are sent to the
HIS/RIS.
The
PenRad DICOM Worklist and SR modules satisfy the need for current and
historical imaging archival without the need for a full DICOM broker,
thus reducing the cost of digital deployment.
PenRad’s DICOM Worklist Scheduler facilitates pre-fetching of images
(priors) and distributes images directly to reading workstations in
advance to eliminate the wait fetch time during reading and/or
distribution to other DICOM devices such as off-site archives and DVD
burners.
For
facilities wanting to add additional automation for the radiologist,
PenRad offers softcopy workstation connectivity so PenRad patient
information and report generation are synchronized with the imaging
study.
DICOM Library.net
PenRad’s full suite of DICOM library components is available for
licensing.
PenRad Softcopy Connectivity Module
This
module allows the synchronization between PenRad and the softcopy
workstation to select the corresponding patient in PenRad automatically.
It saves the radiologist time by not having to select the patient in
both systems. It reduces inherent errors, similar to when the barcode is
attached to the images in the film environment. The module is available
for the Hologic and Siemens (Mevis software), Fuji, Sectra, and PlanMed
workstations. As other workstation vendors request an interface, they
will be made available. Softcopy vendors may have an additional charge
for the interface.
PenRad DICOM Modality Worklist SCP
The
PenRad DICOM Worklist module operates in conjunction with the PenRad MIS
(Mammography Information System) allowing facilities to execute DICOM
queries to eliminate manual data entry. The module supports DICOM based
imaging modalities for worklist and "ad hoc" queries for patients with
prior imaging information. This allows facilities to increase their
efficiencies when transitioning to digital imaging and scanning priors
for comparison. The software package is a Windows service.
PenRad HL7 DICOM SR
(structured report)
PenRad’s HL7 DICOM SR extracts the report from the result section of the
HL7 message to create a DICOM Basic Structured Report to be associated
with the imaging files for archive or review on a softcopy workstation.
The software can be used as a stand-alone product and can also be used
to populate legacy exams from HL7 result messages. The software package
is a Windows service.
PenRad HL7/DICOM Standalone Package
PenRad offers a combination package that allows facilities to execute
DICOM Worklist queries to eliminate manual data entry from a HL7 source.
This package generally satisfies the need for imaging archival without
the need for a full DICOM broker. It processes HL7 orders and ADT,
populates an internal SQL database, and processes DICOM queries to
populate image modality data fields, eliminating manual data entry. This
increases efficiency and provides consistent DICOM information for image
archival. The database can be pre-populated to add historical patient
information. The software package is a Windows service.
PenRad DICOM Worklist
Query Scheduler
PenRad’s DICOM worklist scheduler facilitates pre-fetching of images
(priors) and distributes them directly to reading workstations
automatically in advance to eliminate radiologists waiting for images to
download. For facilities that are manually transferring images, this
module eliminates the requirement to schedule staff to complete this
task. (Scheduled pre-fetching is generally only available with full
HIS/RIS and PACS systems.) This module queries the worklist
automatically, filtered by imaging modality and body type, for a
specified time interval and provides C-MOVE, and/or query/retrieve and
store capabilities for multi-destination (workstation and archive)
distribution. The scheduling component allows bulk distribution at
night, reducing day time network traffic to real-time imaging, thus
increasing bandwidth during the day. It optimizes performance of limited
networks (T1, DSL) for off-site imaging and storage. The worklist is
monitored for additions (walk-ins) to immediately retrieve required
images for distribution. Use PenRad’s HL7/DICOM module when a worklist
is not available (queries HL7 orders). The software package is a Windows
service. |
